# agentx version

> Print the CLI version and its output schema version.

Run `agentx version` to see which build you have and which output schema it emits.

```sh theme={null}
agentx version
```

```text theme={null}
CLI version     dev
Schema version  1
```

`dev` means an unreleased build. The schema version changes only when the `--json` output changes incompatibly, so a script can check it before parsing events.

Add `--json` to get the same information as events:

```sh theme={null}
agentx version --json
```

```json theme={null}
{"type":"version","schema_version":1,"cli_version":"dev"}
{"type":"result","schema_version":1,"ok":true}
```
